Where do people look for Happiness?

There are lots of places people look for happiness.  They look for happiness with things (possessions), money, relationships, fame, power, etc.

Think about famous people that everyone would think should be happy because they have no worries.  Lots of these people are very unhappy.  Many turn to drugs – some take their lives.

The Truth About True Happiness:

1. It Never Depends on Circumstances
2. It is Accessible to Everyone (If you accept God’s truths and act on God’s truths)
3. It is a Do It Yourself Job  (If you are not happy it’s your fault)

Happiness is a CHOICE!

1.  Contentment

Phillipians 4:11

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

God has a plan for your life.  If you seek His will, it leads to Happiness. (Jesus Joy)  Remember Romans 8:28:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

Remember:  We are never beyond God’s control and care!

2.  Reality

Phillipians 4:12

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Life is hard and unfair.  It is difficult for everyone.  There are things we will never understand.

3.  Choice

Phillipians 4:13

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Don’t feel sorry for yourself!  You can’t control what happens to you but you can control how you respond.
